The Litas Fort Worth are hosting the 'Women Rocking Women' event to celebrate International Female Ride Day April 30-May 3rd. We asked The Litas Fort Worth founder (and TONIT rider!) Monkii, why she started this branch and why this event.

"I started The Litas Fort Worth November 2017, with three other ladies. They had family stuff to deal with so we changed out leadership. My fellow Lita Gg from Denton area went to Kriver Campground last October for a Biketober Campout, but because it was the first night that the temperature dropped, only me and my Denton companion showed up. Lol. I fell in love with that campground, and as soon as the weekend was over I was emailing them because I wanted to do an event centered around women empowerment. Adam Sandoval, the campground owners, was completely happy with the idea and had worked with other Litas before. He suggested our international female ride day 2020 would be perfect. So The Litas Fort Worth got with The Litas OKC, The Litas Dallas, The Litas Kaufman County, and non Litas to start planning the event. We know that female riders are rising in numbers and one of our Fort Worth Litas founders created a program called "Under Her Wing." It's a way to take new female riders and help them build confidence. I love the amount of support women are capable of. I believe every woman needs that crown. We have such a high respect for our male counterparts, too. I grew up around bikes but was always a passenger, so my husband taught me to ride...and he created a monster. LOL!"
