“Freedom may be the battlecry of riders around the globe. So how do you find yours during the COVID-19 pandemic?”
One of the things we see (and feel!) as a commonality between so many riders is the love of freedom. Freedom may in fact be the battlecry of motorcycle riders around the globe. So it’s no wonder, in these unprecedented times, that a lot of us are feeling down.
But our TONIT crew was chatting the other day and we came to the conclusion that our bikes might be the secret to our happiness right now...and always.
We've put together a few ideas for how your two wheels can help make you happier, healthier, and feeling that freedom you crave.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) says there are many things you can do to take care of yourself during this high-stress time.
1. They say: Take breaks from the media.
We say: Shut off the news, put your phone away, and go for a ride.
2. They say: Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate.
We say: Get into the zone on two-wheels. Don’t believe riding is like meditation? Go read the research Harley Davidson did on how biking can decrease stress.
3. They say: Make time to unwind with activities you enjoy.
We say: Yup, we know what that is. Grab your bike and start riding.
4. They say: Connect with others.
We say: Message a friend in TONIT and meet-up. Riding with a friend can help you feel connected.
5. They say: Connect with your community.
We say: Your TONIT community is growing and there are individuals and clubs waiting for you. No matter what your interests, there are like-minded riders—and our community (FREE to download!) is the best out there. Join and encourage friends to join.
For those of us who can still get out and on the road, we can EASILY social distance, we can ride in small crews, and we can get into our zen-like focus on the road and forget the worries of the world. Ride on, friends.
